The important thing to remember when gathering evidence is that the more evidence the better - that is, the more evidence you gather to demonstrate your skills, the more confident an assessor can be that you have learned the skills not just at one point in time, but are continuing to apply and develop those skills (as opposed to just learning for the test!). Furthermore, one piece of evidence that you collect will not usualy demonstrate all the required criteria for a unit of competency, whereas multiple overlapping pieces of evidence will usually do the trick!

What evidence can you provide to prove your understanding of each of the following citeria?
Determine irrigation shifts
The irrigated area is subdivided into the smallest units capable of individual irrigation and area, and irrigation equipment characteristics are noted for each. Completed |
Evidence:
Each unit is defined for its soil irrigation capability. Completed |
Evidence:
The crop/plant water requirement is defined for each unit. Completed |
Evidence:
Units requiring similar irrigation are combined to form a shift that does not exceed the water delivery capacity of the property irrigation infrastructure. Completed |
Evidence:
Check water supply and availability
Water volume required to meet irrigation needs over specified period is determined. Completed |
Evidence:
Water is ordered, if necessary, according to water management authority standards and procedures. Completed |
Evidence:
Sufficient notice of water order is given, if necessary, to ensure water is available when required. Completed |
Evidence:
Implement irrigation shifts
Resources are coordinated and personnel briefed to deliver requirements. Completed |
Evidence:
Agreed irrigation schedule is implemented. Completed |

Plants and crops are inspected for signs of stress. Completed |
Evidence:
Monitor irrigation system process as specified by enterprise policy and procedures
Frequency of irrigation is recorded. Completed |
Evidence:
Water usage is measured and recorded, and does not exceed water allocation for a given period. Completed |
Evidence:
